    St Paul's Cathedral.
St Paul's Cathedral is one of the most famous buildings in the world! There was a Roman temple dedicated to the goddess Diana.
There were five St Paul's Cathedrals, exiting at different times, but being in the same place. The first (wooden) cathedral was constructed in 604 and burned down in 675. The second (stone) was constructed in 685 and was destroyed in 961. The third (stone) was constructed in 962 and burned down together with all London during a fire in 1087 and so on. Christopher Wren, the Cathedral's final architect, was asked to restore it. He laid the foundation stone for the cathedral in 1675. 35 years later he set the final stone in place. One of the interesting future is the Whispering Gallery, where you can whisper at one wall, and then hear on the opposite wall 107 feet away.
